    Hope Tech 3 E4?

Anyone have an inside line on Hope stuff? My Trail X0s have been pissing me off for too long. I like the XTs, but did like the progressive feel of the Avids a lot more than the hard bite of the XTs.

    Thanks in advance!

Yeah. Casting a wide net right now...trying to source them from as many places as possible. I don't know what they normally go for...

From what I have found (and I have done extensive research) AEbike.com has the best price by a bit. I just ordered some V4s and their price was best by about $25 a side. They sell a bunch of Hope stuff so seemed to me like a safe bet. Haven't received mine yet but they shipped within a couple days.

I didn't think the e4s cane with the braided hoses. Thought just the v4s, could be wrong though

Definitely not. I have another quote at $180 w/ braided hoses, though. I'm waiting to see where he is on rotors... Also, another quote for $500 (for both) including rotors, shipped.

That little chat with 007 about his Hopes did me in. I'm a hopeless consumer.

    HA!

I've been sitting on a $300 AmEx gift card for 4 months, waiting for inspiration. I'll have to thank him.

    Hope Tech 3 E4?

For anyone interested, I scored a set with braided hoses, 203mm and 183mm floating rotors, and an adapter for the front for $485.

Sounds like a good deal. I enjoy mine. Got them from cyclesportsuk earlier this year. They were the best price I found at the time. Can easily get moto setup that I use also compared to some US sellers.

Unboxed, mounted up, and somewhat bedded in, these things are sweet:

Those look great! Did you end up buying from AE bike? Ride report? I'm thinking about making the swap from X0T's too and wanted to see how these compare.

Between the Tech 3 E4 and the XTR M985.

I wound up going with a guy selling on behalf of his shop on Pinkbike. I was able to negotiate him down and squeeze an adaptor out of the deal. $496 for everything, shipped.

They're freaking awesome. Lots of power, but more controlled than the XT's, which I have experience with. Not spongy like the Avids, but tons of modulation. My favorite brakes of X0 Trails, XT's, SLX's, Juicy 7s, Elixir 9s, and Hopes, all of which I've had more than just a few rides on.

I came to really like my X0 Trails, though they wouldn't really stand up to park use. I have all the benefits of those brakes in the Hopes with more power.

Awesome, that's what I wanted to hear. My last concern is hose length. I ride a large Kona Process 111 with 785 bars. Hoping the hose length is generous like the shimanos?

I went from the saints to the V4s and they are amazing.
As far as hose length, the stock saint hose is longer than the Hopes but had no length issues...lol. Not sure if the hoses on the E4 and V4 are the same length, but I am running 780mm bars.

Medium Lunchbox with 800mm bars. They're a tad long, but not so long that I feel compelled to shorten them. I'm thinking you should be fine.

Don't think AE bike is ever going to get these back in stock. Thinking about getting the M4 instead but can't figure out what the difference is.

He's legit - just warrantied a brake lever that broke.

Loving the look of the new E4, but only downside I can see is the way the hose attaches to the caliper. You can't change the angle.

If the cable guide is on the seat stay, the angle is too sharp.
The old M4 you could adjust it.

Unless the first guide is really close and the seat stay is really steep, I don't know if it's really an issue.

AEbike has these back in stock. I just picked up a set of two for $321.08 with a 5% off coupon from retailmenot. I was between these and the XTR's and I went with these for about $40 less and the hope for a bit more power!

I wanted the race evo levers but I couldn't resist saving over $100 on the set. Too bad they don't sell the direct mount adaptors.
