Has anyone come across something similar?

Saw someone else mention the Fuji Tahoe at bikewagon.com as a good bike at a nice price. 2011 Fuji Tahoe 29er 1.0 Hardtail Mountain Bike - Mountain Bikes - Complete Bikes - Shop by Item - Bikewagon . But no medium frames to be had unfortunately. Has anyone come across a reasonably similar specced bike for 1000-1100$ in their internet wanderings lately? I'd appreciate the help as I'm trying to help my nephew get into the sport with a bike for xmas.

Just picked up a GT Sensor 9r Elite for $1100 at GiantNerd.com last week. It's a full-suspension 29er with decent spec'd components. Nothing high end to be sure but a relatively inexpensive way to get an FS 29er. Looks great too.

I'm 5' 9" and 160 lbs, got a Large. Still fits me pretty well.

I was seriously looking at the Fuji Tahoe, but not having my size I decided to go this route.
Some better components for about $200 more.

Save up to 60% off new Mountain Bikes - MTB - Motobecane Fantom 29PRO

Unlike the Fuji the BD bike comes with free shipping.

The sensor is nice and with the 20% coupon I think I'll take a good look at it tonight. The motobecane has great parts but is a bit more spendy than I think I could do for an xmas gift. I appreciate the suggestions they help.

Try the jenson Niner deal in a large. If he can fit a large its the best deal in that price range.

Hehe you guys are making this difficult. Lots of nice options. Kinda looking like I'll have to stretch it to 1200 for the component set I'd like.

There is also Craigslist!!! I got a really good All carbon Trek Road bike off of there in Feb. for 1/3 of its actual price with less than 200 miles on it.
