EBAY - Marin 2010 frames!
I guess with the new style the marin frames are taking for 2012, the older ones are on close out. There's some killer deals by a single, respected seller (not sure if I can name the seller). But the mount vision 5.8 frames are $579. Pretty cheap considering some lesser name frames go for that.
I'd get one but I already have 4 Marin bikes already, almost can't justify another one....

Sweet! Thanks a bunch for letting us know! The price is too good to pass up
I finally get my chance to try out a full suspension. A perfect contrast to my 29er HT.
I can't wait to build it!

Killer deal.
If I weren't moving to a 29" later this year, I'd be buying one of the 17.5" ones.

Yeah, I bought a complete bike, a 5.8 earlier this year. If I didn't already know the frame is well built, I would buy a "back up" frame before Marins turn 'vanilla' with the 2012 redesign. But having ridden Marins for years, I know a spare frame would just sit and age.

Anyone have any suggestions on what fork would go well with this frame?
Seems like from my searching, people are running 120-130mm with 15mm maxle.
Unfortunately my current 26er wheelset isn't 15mm compatible... My 29er has it - it came with my bike so I don't really know the difference. Do you think I'd really miss it? Like does it really do that much in terms of handling?
In my situation, would it be better to spring for a new 15mm front wheel as well as a 15mm fork or just find a standard QR fork and be done with it? Or better yet, does anyone make any kind of adaptor to run 15mm fork with standard QR or vice versa? Also looks like blueskycycling's deal on oem Reba forks is no longer good so this might get pricey.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

No leads on a fork for you, but I'd recommend that you just pony up for the 15 mil and be done with it. With much of the industry appearing to head that direction, you'll be buying yourself a bit of future proofing, a little better performance, and potentially better resale.
Some folks have had luck converting their 15mm hubs back to QR with this Mavic adapter, but most hubs won't go the other direction, with a few notable exceptions (Hope, some DT, etc.).

Thanks Diesel - I'm starting to come to the same conclusion as others have said similar to me.

Warranty and Bearings
I got one of these frames (2010 Mt Vision from Adrenaline Bikes, oem takeoff)
Bearings were shot when I checked them after three rides. Warranty was pretty useless without a Marin dealer nearby. Replaced all 8 bearings at my own expense (~$60 for the bearings from Real World Cycling, $20 to have them pressed in by the LBS) and they seem to be OK.
Here was my bearing and warranty experience with them: New Mt Vision, shot bearings, not happy.
Despite this, for the price I would still consider one of these frames. In the end it cost me $80 to resolve my bearing issues, I'm just thankful it was not something more expensive. I'm selling the frame now, but that's due to my just not liking the ride that much, and that is all personal preference, many people really like the ride. Plus the deals on 2011 5-spots were just too good to pass up, and I could get it through my lbs.
To answer an above question, my medium frame with rp2 shock, dropouts installed, no headset, was 7 lbs, +/- 0.1 lb.

Just a heads up.
2010 Mount Vision 5.8 Frames are back in stock!
They want a little more money this time around at $629.99. I guess they sold out quick enough last time to warrant the slight price hike. Still definitely worth it.
Anyways, because of this thread, two weeks later I'm sportin' a new 2010 MV 5.8 as well. Despite being thrown together with some mix-matched stuff, I must say it's just a thing of pure beauty.

Looks great! I've heard good things about that suspension design.
