Thanks, now you've got me thinking about picking one of these up. When you factor in tax+shipping Amazon might be a better deal at $119.99 + free Prime shipping

Was that a gold box or black friday/cyber monday weeks sale, or just a regular amazon price drop?

I bought one last year when Amazon had them for $89. It's a great action cam with better mounts and better aerodynamics than a GoPro, IMO. It has an easy "slide forward" record button and the lens rotates so you can mount the camera sideways and still get a level picture.

The only gripe I have is that the lens replacement kit doesn't have good reviews. Since I use the Roam on my motorcycle, I have gotten a few rock chips that have blemished the lens. I haven't bought the lens replacement kit because most say that the new lens' won't sit flush when replacing on the Roam. But, I have not noticed any considerable loss in picture quality due to the rock chips. Also, if only being used on a mtb, this situation might not arise.

Overall, I give the Contour Roam an "A" for ease of use, quality, and bang for your buck.

I'm using the go pro chest mount for the Roam.

There is too much vertical camera movement no matter how tight the chest mount is which makes the footage shaky.

Any suggestions how to make the mouth more stable?

Assuming these two video feets were rendered the same I would say that the gopro looks MUCH better. Better contrast, low light detail, color saturation and field of view. Btw, I dont own either but would buy the gopro based on the above comarison and other footage Ive seen from the HD version.

Thanks for posting the comparison. Good info for those looking to make a move.
