    Chain Reaction, Merlin, Wiggle which?

I need to purchase a 11-44 Hope cassette from one of these retailers as I can't find it anywhere for sale state side. When buying from over seas is there a retailer to steer clear of regarding the Vat? Or is it random?

I've used all three of the above mentioned with no problem whatsoever for many years. I just purchased items from all 3 of them in the past week, and all items were delivered on time with no extra charges. In my experience, Merlin usually has the best prices on anything Hope related. Just picked up some Hope floating rotors and nobody came close to their prices. And, you get an extra 10% off all Hope products.

I wasn't aware that Hope made an 11-44 cassette. Now I know. Thanks.

Wiggle uses DHL so brokerage fees.
For ChainReaction, make sure you select nontracked or it comes DHL with brokerage fees.
I use Merlin a lot, always comes mail.
Ribble is good, always comes mail but I'm a little pissed with them since they don't answer their emails - I've sent 3 different requests regarding orders and they have never replied.

Brokerage fees? Just had an order delivered from Chain Reaction via DHL, and there were no fees.

A little gun shy here. My wife bought a used bike from Canada and UPS hit us with a $200 brokerage fee.

Maybe since it was under $200 - or you might get a bill in the mail.

If you're in the US you do not pay VAT, once you log in with your location the site should show the correct prices.

Sometimes buying from Germany is cheaper than the British sites, but they don't offer free shipping. (DHL from Germany is their USPS, not like DHL the courier)

CRC owns Wiggle, all three stores are legit though.

Just received an order last week from both Wiggle and CRC. No brokerage fees from either merchant. In fact, I've never paid a brokerage fee from either of the 3 merchants the OP asked about.
