With shipping it lands around the $40 price point. There are plenty of choices at various sites in that range.

I've bought two pairs of mtb shoes for less than $45 and they are both name brand (adididas - lake) Would never pay that for Nashbar branded shoes, just my opinion.

I wouldn't buy shoes without trying them on first, YMMV. Not an area you want to skimp on, IMO.

I've been using some $40 nashbar shoes for almost 3 years now with 6000 miles of mtb on them. they are still somehow in good shape. they actually have real leather and not fake plastic crap. the cheap name brand shoes are the ones I see where the soles peel off the shoe.

mine aren't sold anymore. try some on in a store, or order a couple sizes of the same shoe and return one pair.

I love the Sette Enduro for my hike a bike shoes (single speed). Small sizes left for $29. I am sooooooo bummed they are out of size 44. Bike tires direct has good pricing on high end shoes (not cheap, but big discounts).

Any shoe that doesn't fit you right isn't worth a deal at all.
