    best place for winter gear?

    Hi,
I need to get a winter wardrobe.
What are the items you consider essential? and where's a good place to get it?

You can find stuff everywhere if you know what you want.

    Hiking boots and flat pedals.

    gloves, jacket, windproof tights.

    headgear:
    - tape up helmet vents
    - headband or muffs to cover ears
    - neck tube that will pull up

I found last year's model neoprene booties on closeout in the local Performance store a couple of weeks ago. Had been $35 and was marked down to $15.

For morning rides layered gloves and layered socks are great. First thing they need to be very warm, then for the gloves, as you ride you can remove a layer and gain a little dexterity. I also like an open balaclava which worked well last year.
I also picked up some stuff at the campmor site.
