    Backcountry Fuji Bikes on clearance

    I keep seeing these pop up on chainlove, but it looks like they're sitting on backcountry's site now:

    I'll say right off the bat: cheap stem/seat/seatpost/bars, probably cheap wheels, but still not a bad deal considering the components. They advertise the XT bike as being 27.5lbs for a 23".

    The 20% off coupon is only valid on regular price items so you can't use it on these deals anyway.

    26" bikes work fantastic for a vast majority of mountain bikers out there. For someone getting into the sport or looking to upgrade from their department store bike, the Fuji in this deal is a great opportunity.

    Couldn't agree more. Unfortunately, someone getting into it might not realize how good a deal it is, and someone whose been riding a while will go for a 29er or 650b.

    +1. Hopefully some of us more knowledgeable folk will direct our friends/family who are looking to get into the sport towards deals like that!

    The XT (better deal) model is out of stock so looks like some people jumped on it. I thought about getting it for parts and just reselling the stripped down bike...

    headtube angle on these bikes is ridiculously slack

    I found another site with the full specs--head tube is 70*, that's perfectly reasonable?
