Anyway around the Performance Bike Oversize shipping charge?

Want to buy the Access XCL 9er frame for $179.99, but the oversize charge of $47.00 makes it not worth it. Called the stores, they dont stock it, shipped to the store still apparently charges the overstock. Called performance, said the charge still applies if using red phone.

    Is all that true?

Seems crazy that they would charge it from warehouse to store. I could see from warehouse to someones home.

    Thanks for any info.

They do have occasional free shipping deals on bikes and frames if you can wait. Sign up to their mailing list. Also check out those online coupon codes websites.

Unfortunately, those are the only ways I know of.

I had that same frame shipped to their Houston store on a "stock order". No freight, but I paid tax...

Check the homepage today. It says no "overweight" charges. Not sure if that is the same thing as "oversize".

My local store has had free ship to store in the past, but the policy may have changed (haven't tried lately).
