I'm thinking of upgrading the standard Scott wheels (Alex TD-24, 32H rims, Shimano M475/Scott comp hubs) on my 'Scale 50', 2008 model for something like Mavic Crossrides. Does anyone have a rough idea how much weight this would shed, and if I would feel the difference in terms less inertia and better responsiveness?
Not sure if its worth splashing out... also I've read posts of people saying these cheaper Mavic wheels aren't that strong and the aero spokes can rotate from use, meaning they probably act more like air brakes..!
I like to jump off 4 foot drops off-road etc and blast down rocky trials, so need a pretty strong wheel (however I am only 11 stone so might get away with more cos of this.)
Many thanks.. any advice appreciated...
