    What Rim Should I Use?

I'm building up a new wheel set using Chris King ISO hubs and do not know what rim I should use. It is for mostly trail riding so do not want a light weight XC racing rim but also do not want All Mountain DH rims. I would also like to keep it alloy don't want to go carbon too expensive. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: What Rim Should I Use?

You have a lot of options. What is your geared up weight and how aggressive do you ride?

A few wide and lighter weight rims that you can run tubeless.

    Stans Flow

    Pacenti DL31

I just built a set of TL28, but they are more of a wide XC rim (similar to a Stans Arch).

Stans Flow or Arch are pretty much standard category for trail/AM

    Stans Crest would be XC.

My personal favorite would be the Flows.

Geared up weight would be about 170-175lbs. I have had a few problems in the past with Stan's rims but it was the Crest rim a welding splint would come loose and bang around in the rim, nothing structural but annoying it happened with a few sets of them.
