    vredestein + stans = side wall melt down...

    never seen this before!?! all the way around both sides. but only on one tyre, i have 2 pairs of these.

    Yep, almost all the non-tubeless conversions of mine and even a few Tubeless Ready tires have done this. Some stop after a while, some do it the entire time of running the tire. None have ever "melted" my sidewalls.

    My High Rollers did that too... They didn't lose much air, but there was also the greasy film coming out and pooling at the bottom.

    thanks for the input, in years of tubeless honestly never seen it before. the tyre is degrading, as above black "greasy film" residue. i thought it would be a case of throwing it away, but i'll keep it on there.

    It looks like the tire, rim, and spokes are all rusting away. I think you should replace the entire wheel.

    we had one of the wettest aprils in 100 years - hence the crust.
