Titanium skewers on a full suspension mtb?

I was contemplating this the other day--is it safe to run ti skewers on a full suspension mtb? It seems that some of the frame designs place a lot of stress at the rear QR axle, such as the Giant NRS with a pivot point directly above the rear axle. Is Ti stong enough and resiliant enough to ride on bike like this?

I have a Specialized Epic, and although there is a pivot point right near the rear axle, I don't think that it relies on the rear axle stregnth much. It all has to do with tension and compression--but I am not familiar enough with these topics to make a safe assumption.

Any ideas? Have you used Ti skewers on a FS bike? Which one?

Hmmm .. interesting question. Haven't heard anything on that. One thing for sure: Chris King warns against using Ti skewers on their hubs and they're considered the best built.

you have to ask why. if you are trying to shave a few grams perhaps yes....otherwise dont do it. in fact, shave the weight somewhere else that is not as important.

If I recall, when I was shopping around for skewers to replace the stock ones that came on with my CrossMax's, salsa actually had two different kits, one for FS and one for HTs. The FS kit has a titanium front but a steel rear if I'm not mistaken. I think for the aforementioned reasons.
Question to a custom frame builder..."So what makes your bikes climb better?"....his answer, "Uh, your legs?"
