    tire wear, these still good?

    or should i put my new Excavators on?



    new, they look like this...

    as you can see, the grooves in the center treads are gone, not sure what that means tho. this is my first real mtb and this would be my first tire change

    Are they still hooking up on the trails you ride? If yes, keep rolling on them.

    If they're still performing well by all means keep riding them. Since they're so worn out, you might want to try the Steve Peat mod on the front and see if you'll dig that for additional cornering bite up front.

    Looks like you ride a lot of pavement judging by the really worn center tread section. Maybe swap out the front tire for the Excavator and keep running the rear until it starts slipping under climbing or braking.
