Tire liners or Slime or ? Suggestions for a noob

Ok, I'm back in the game after half a life time of being off a bike. Took my new Vertex 29er. The 29er makes rolling through the soft loamy horse trails near my house in Southern California easy but, those bloody thorns are killing me! I rubbed enough thorns out of my two tires when I got back home to make a bloody tree! And now I have two flats.

Kinda a crappy day for the maiden voyage. So I need suggestions. Liners or Slime or what? The bike is all factory right now down to the tires until I start getting a little more serious.

You can get pre-filled Presta Tubes from Slime or Flat Attack for around $10-$12 a piece. Another option is to get presta tubes with removeable cores (Q-Tubes, Continental, Schwalbe) and add a latex sealant such as Stans or Slime Pro Tubeless which some riders report works quite well. Liners tend to be hit or miss...not a fan myself. Tubeless is the best solution but maybe that is something your not wanting to do based on your post.

I like tuffy liners. Think there $10-20 for two. I'd try that, before slime.
The worst is feeling the highest of highs, but always feeling the lowest of the lows.

    It's all a dream...
