Stan's rim strip with Stan's Universal Valve

    Hello All,

Yesterday, the pump head pulled the valve of my Stan's rim strip through the valve hole of an XC717, leaving the strip in place to engage the tire. I can get a new strip, but have universal presta valves available and was wondering if anyone has just plugged one of those through the rimstrip into the valve hole. Seems like the valve would seal the hole, and the strip would still function in minimizing burps? Any experience, or should I just crawl back to my hole ?

    Thanks,

    Tom

    Should work just fine.

I cut Presta valves off of old road bike tubes for use on my ENVE wheels, two sets of Stans (355 and Crest) and a Bontrager wheelset.

    No problems at all.
