I've been converting wheels to tubeless for over 10 years now. The first time I did it, it probably took 3 hours before I finally got the bubble-less no-burp seal. I got blisters on my fingers from the effort. I always feared that spontaneous and oh-so-inconvenient ride-time burp.
Last night, with a new set of ZTR Arch EX 29ers, some Conti Kings, a pair of 35mm stems, some juice, and an injector, it was sealing time.
I had a bucket of suds, another bucket of suds, and some gospel music playing on the radio. I figured I'd be there a while.
Insert stem (A) into hole (B) on rim (C). Screw. Stretch tire (D) on rim (C). Put juice (E) into mounted tire (C) with injector (F). Shake. Pump.
Pop. Shake. Flip.
15 minutes later I had some rideable rubber.
The second bucket of suds would have to wait till I got back from the ride on the new rubber. Technology. It's a beautiful thing.
