Spokes for Hope Pro 2 / WTB Laserdisc Trail 29

Sorry if this has been covered previously, but I did search extensively prior to posting...

I'm planning to rebuilt an existing wheel set that came with Shimano M525 hubs and WTB laserdisc trail 29er rims. Although the hubs and spokes are cheap I think these rims are actually good enough to reuse but I'm having difficulty finding consistent ERD numbers for this rim. WTB's website says ERD is 605 but I've found other references that say the ERD is 602 and unfortunately there is nothing printed on the RIMs to tell me the ERD. My plan to rebuild with these rims using DT Swiss Competition spokes and 14mm bass nips mated to Hope Pro 2 Evo hubs. Depending on the ERD my calculations say this should require either 292 or 294mm spokes.

Is there any way to confirm the spoke length without tearing the wheel apart to measure the ERD?

The only way to confirm the ERD for yourself is to measure it. Maybe someone will give you another opinion, but that's not confirmation.

How are you going to rebuild the wheel without tearing it apart?

    Use 12mm nipples.
