New question here. School me on Conti Trail Kings

Tubeless failed about 6mo ago and just getting around to resealing them. The front had a hole, so I'm looking to replace it with the same.

Problem is, I can't tell which one it is!

Conti lists 4 trail king / rubber queen 2.2's, with one being ust, and one being wire bead. So that should leave regular, and protection bead. Do they both come in black chili compound?

    http://www.conti-online.com/generato..._queen_en.html

On the conti website, and through online pictures, it seems there is no difference in appearance between the protection beads and the regular ones? Some used to say it on the side with a copper sidewall though?

The weight of the the front 2.2 was about 730, indicating protection bead weight? The rear was 640, but super worn down. It doesn't help that both types seem to have the same cross-hatched "checker flag" sidewall and "made in germany" logos.

How the heck do you tell the 2 apart!?

    Thanks!

If it has the "Handmade in Germany" label it is Black Chili.

    There is no ProTection version

The trouble with common sense is it is no longer common
