Sapim Laser spokes for mtb build

I was looking into spokes for a wheel build. I was planning on Sapim CX-Rays and it was pointed out to me that the Sapim Lasers are the same weight and there is no need for bladed on mtb. builds. I do recognize the build is more difficult due to 2.0/1.5/2.0 spokes tendency to wind-up more, but am considering them to save $$ and get the same weight and performance.
One of the websites state that the Lasers are not recommended for use w/ disc brake equipped wheels. I was surprised by this as they are so similar to the DT Revolutions and the Revos are commonly used for mtb disc builds, in fact I have a set of Stan's wheels that use them and they have held up fine.
I am building 32 hole, 3x, using Light Bicycle Carbon hoops. Cross-country riding.
Any advice would be helpful since Sapim has not gotten back to me.
    Thanks in advance.

I built my first wheels last year with those spokes and Light Bicycle carbon 26" rims. If you go carefully and slow, they won't wind-up and the wheel will be rock solid! I never had a wheelset that stiff before. Not problem with disc brakes either. I've done over 2500Km rear / 2000Km front on them so far and cannot be more pleased.

Don't be afraid of those spokes, they do the job perfectly.

That's exactly what I just built. Wide 29er LB hoops with aluminum Polyax nipples and Laser spokes, they built up just like Revos. I don't have a lot of miles on them yet, but I don't anticipate any problems. Awesome wheels so far.

The only issue I ran into was some of the nipples were a tight fit in the rim. I understand LB was going to increase the hole size a bit, but I ended up reaming mine out slightly.

Sapimís advice on building and maintaining good wheels reads: "For MTB and CYCLO CROSS we advise the use of Sapim CX-Ray, Sapim
RACE or Sapim LASER (do not use Sapim Laser in wheels with disc brakes)."

I almost edited my post to split the recommendation vs. reality hair.

You will have no problems with Lasers in MTB wheels. CX Rays are the same spokes rolled flat... nothing magical.
