    Recco thorn resistant tires

I frequently get pinhole flats when riding my local trail. Sometimes the hole in my tube is so small I can't even find it with soapy water. I inspect the inside of my tires and find nothing substantial, but I find lots of broken off thorn tips in the base layer of the tread. I think the tiny tips of the thorns are poking through and putting a pinhole in my tube.

I remember the inside surface of old tires I had being a rather hard plastic. My new tires are very soft and rubbery on the interior. Can you recommend some XC 2.10 tires with a tough inner lining?

I looked at the plastic tire liners, but they seem kind of hokey. I'd rather not pump a bunch of heavy slime in there, either.

If you don't want to try going tubeless w/ Stan's (which usually doesn't add any weight, btw), you could try tire liners made of Vectran (definitely not "hokey").
