question about irc mythos xc II

    http://www.blueskycycling.com/view_product.php?pid=22
I'm looking at getting these tires, IRC mythos xc II. I mainly ride urban and around town, with a few trails thrown in. I was originally going to get the fire xc pros, but figured the bigger knobs would wear down pretty fast. Ive been running some cheap kenda tires similar to bontrager connection trails, which have lasted a while but I need something new.
Will these tires last 1000+ miles 90% on pavement? I dont want a semislick tire, it wouldnt work for when I do drops to grass or anything.

So what do you guys think of these tires for 13bucks each?
And are there better and worse versions(TPI etc) of these tires? Are these hte better version or worse?
    thanks!

These tires are the higher quality Kevlar bead, high thread count version, but these use a low density rubber which will wear faster then the original Mythos. I doubt you'd get 1000 miles out of them. You might want to look at a smoother rolling full knobby like a Hutchison Python or Michelin Comp S Lite. Shwalbe Racing Ralphs would be nice also, but they're kinda pricey.

    good tire for the money

i just put a set of those on friends bike and she liked em...for the price you can't go wrong even if they only last half as long as you would like you're getting a pair delivered for less than the price of one top-of-the-line tire.
they might be cheaper at pricepoint...check it here

I am using the UST version right now. nice tire, I wouldn't give it 5 chilis but at 500 XC miles, its not bald but it doesn't have the traction it used to. 1000 miles? i guess its depends on your defintion of what a worn out tire is.

My definition of worn out is threads showing. Hahah
My kenda tires lasted around 1000 until its worn to that point in one place, but these are more of a continuous tread, not knobbies.
edit* I will just order from blueskycycling I think, the tire are a buck more overall, but I'm also getting those same tubes for 4 bucks less. I think I will go with the IRC mythos.
    thanks!
any other opinions would be great
