Older rider needs larger air volume tires
that are suitable for X/C racing in the Northeast( CT. and MA.) and are as light as possible. My back's acting up on the narrow higher psi tires I have used Fast Fred 2.0 @ 42psi out back and Specialized Control 1.9 up front @ 38. I run 125-130 lbs and willing to add grams but want volume to remove a bit of the impact now making its way to my back. My bike's an Extralite F1 that has FS but is very race oriented with a stiff back end. Thanks for any advice!

You have quite a few choices:
- Kenda Karma 2.0: ~460g
- Kenda Blue Groove Light 2.0: ~460g
- Schwalbe Racing Ralph 2.25/2.4: 545-590g
- Schwalbe Fast Fred 2.25/2.35: 470-520g
- Nokian NBX Lite 2.2: <550g (available in a couple of months)(same casing size as their 2.3 tires)
- Hutchinson Python or Mosquito Air Light 2.0: 485g
Most of these are on my tire site and all are bigger than what you are now using.

The trouble with common sense is it is no longer common

Thanks for the link and specs-that's an amazing site
you've put together. I will get back to you with any info. I have from the new-yet to be chosen-tire. Good in wet to dry is a tall order for most so may have to buy two to really have effective grip.
