Nevegal mods...can they be made un-worthless?

So, I have a few 2.3 650 Nevegals. ALL I can get right now with any volume, so this thread is about modifying them. Any try any modded Nevegals?
    Trimmed knobs, at what heights?
    Shiggy?

    Nevegal Steve Peat cut
Convert your Kenda Nevegal from zero to HERO!

The Peat mod seems to be the most popular way to improve a Nevegal.

Depends on your riding style. The "Peat" mod would make the tire worse for me.

IME the best to get good preformance from a Nevegal 2.35 is use it on a rim at least 27mm wide.

The trouble with common sense is it is no longer common

^ I agree, ive never had a tire so rim-width dependent as the nev. It doesnt like narrow rims at all. Besides being really slow, I liked the nev a lot... as long as it was on a wide rim. It was just sketch on anything narrow.

I'd imagine the options for a wide 650b rim are fairly limited, but with more coming soon.

Is Stans doing the Flow or Arch EX in that size yet?

    Me+Nev = pinchflat

Dl31 rims and too much pressure might work

    *haven't tried tubeless..

What do you not like about the Nevs?

The Peaty mod makes the tire a screamer but I could see how it could be unpredictable at some lean angles. Makes it ride a lot like a 26" Ardent if you ever spent much time on one.

I'm running a Nevegal up front on my SS (SB8 out back) on Velocity Blunt rims and like the combo a lot. I'm running 26", but it's definitely something I'd suggest checking out.
