Need opinions on wheels for 114lb wife. B day gift

    Hey everyone,

I am so used to buying stuff for myself that I am lost with which rims I should get for my wife. She only weighs 114lbs, and she is not an aggressive rider at all. We live in Fl, but we do travel to N.C for downhill fun several times a year.

My question is what wheels would you all rec? I have been eying the Crest ZTR's, but my local shop keeps trying to steer me towards other brands that are more expensive, and to be honest, more than she will ever need.

Any opinion or suggestions would be helpful. I was hoping to stay around 500 bucks if that helps, but I have no problem spending more if I need to. She is amazing and deserves it.

Have you looked at the cheap chinese carbon wheels? I run the Crest ZTR's and can really feel them flex, but they are holding up to the ton of abuse I put them thru. My hubby just got the CCC wheels and they are pretty rad. Super light and stiff. I'm jealous.

Look down about 20 threads, the company is Light-Bicycle and they have a website. He got the 26' wide AM wheels. They make a lighter, narrower 26' and will begin making a DH ready 26'. Just thought you might like another option. I wish my wheels weren't so new so I could make a case for getting some! Good luck either way!

Get her the lightest wheelset you can afford. She will THANK YOU for it and enjoy the ride, equally.

Crest and Hope hubs from Wiggle UK, light and nice ... if a little loud. About $350 shipped.
