Need Advice/Help ASAP Frame Build Wheelset Pick Mavic, Azonic, Sun what to pick??

First of all sorry. New member. New bike builder. Long post. In need of a lot of advice. Which would you pick?

Hi all! Any advice would really be appreciated. I am building a 456 Carbon frame. The wheelset it the last piece I need. Having a lot of trouble deciding. Along with the bike I am building I have a 2008 SX Trail I as well.

At the same time, I’m looking to lighten my SX Trail, so looking for advice in two areas. Have broken post up into two sections 456 Wheelset and Lightening Up SX Trail.

    Intended Use:

    1. On One 456 Carbon: Longer XC/Trail Rides, Occasional Commute Use, Lending Bike when friends visit. Fork is not the lightest…therefore this is not the lightest build, but want to keep weight down if possible.
    2. SX Trail: Do everything bike. Have taken this bike all over, from long XC to Bike parks. I am still a pretty new rider. Jumps and drops under 5 ft…I know this bike is intended for more freeride/mini downhill but I like it. I ride more AM, and would love to lighten it up a bit…as I don’t see myself doing big freeride jumps unless I process faster than expected. Would rather put $ into this bike.

    ***456 Wheelset***
(Need 110mm front w/ 20mm thru axle and 135mm rear, I believe quick release or skewer will work)

General thoughts. Hesitant to spend a lot on 456 wheelset, $200 is absolute max. Only considering Outlaws because they’re new. Want something in between. Not too light or heavy as want to use from XC-AM. If I switch the current SX Trail wheels (DT E540) to 456, I don’t want to spend much more than $300…

Wheelset: #1 $175 shipped –Used condition

    Front Mavic EX721 w/ DT 340 Hub (20mm)
    Rear Mavic EX721 w/ Hope Pro 2 (135mm w/ 10mm thru)
    Included Specialized tires 2.3

This seems like the best deal to me, long as in good condition.

    1. Too heavy?
    2. Switch to SX Trail?
    3. Just right?

Wheelset #2 $150 shipped –Used Condition
    Front/Rear Sun Single Track (20mm & 135mm QR)

Seems like other set would be better, but heard these are strong.

    1. Too heavy?
    2. Switch to SX Trail?
    3. Just right?

Wheelset #3 $200-215 Local Pickup -New!
    Azonic Outlaws (20mm and 135mm 10mm thru)

Heard good things but may be a bit heavy & wouldn’t lighten up SX Trail Either…

    1. Too heavy?
    2. Switch to SX Trail?
    3. Just right?

Wheelset #4 AClass Revolt Set Enduro -$175 Ebay New
    Right Size

Not Sure on these decent reviews.

    1. Too heavy?
    2. Switch to SX Trail?
    3. Just right?

Wheelset #5 -$50 Local pickup –Used Condition
Alex Rims & Hubs (20mm and 135mm QR)
Not positive on model yet but right size.

Tempted by these as local, and cheap but may not last…

    1. Too heavy?
    2. Switch to SX Trail?
    3. Just right?
    4. Too cheap/won’t last?

    Wheelset #4
Look for a better/lighter wheelset for the SX Trail and switch DT E540 w/ Spec rims to On One 456…
Any suggestions? ($300 or so budget probably used wheelset…)
    Other questions I have:

    1. Should I be hesitant buying used rims?
    2. Has anyone has positive experience buying used rims on pinkbike?

    Lightening up SX Trail

    1. Wheelset recommendations?

    1. Buy or Build (Assuming buy as build will likely me more and I’m trying to save.)
    2. Will X0 Shifters/Rear Der be that much lighter and should I swap them out for the X7 shifters and X9 der?
    3. Switch Juicy 7 onto the SX Trail and leave Juicy 3 for 456. (I know these aren’t best brakes, but I know how to bleed them and have a bunch of pads.)
    4. SLX Cranks vs Raceface Atlas Cranks? (I’m ditching the husselfelts)
    5. Ditch husselfelt stem?
    6. I will eventually upgrade bars but any other ideas to lighten up bike some?
