Maxxis Maxxlite 310g vs. Schwalbe Fast Fred 350g?

I know there is a slight weight discrepancy- but what are each tire's pro's and cons?

not sure you can get the fast fred any more, not they offer the furious fred.

both are obviously very fast rolling and light. but also little puncture protection.

i have ridden the maxxlite on the back and for hardpack it was fine.

some have said that the maxxlite does not convert with stans well as the blows off the rim due to a weak bead. but the schwalbe tires tend to convert fine... so if you are planning on running them tubesless, maybe consider that.

overall i think you will have similar experiences.

for me, i prefer the conti twister ss tires. fast rolling and full side knob at about 370 g - only 1 flat in 4 seasons of racing them. predictable in most conditions - but not a mudder.

Thanx- I currently have the Maxxlites, they are very fast and suitable even for road duty too.
