Lateral play in DT Swiss 340 rear hub

I've done some searches but didn't find what I was looking for, maybe someone here can help.

I have a DT Swiss 340 rear hub that has some lateral play. With the wheel securely mounted in the frame, I can feel some play in the rear hub. After removing the wheel and cassette, I can grasp the rotor feel play there as well. On a typical hub, I'd use a couple spanner wrenches to adjust the preload but I'm not sure how to do this on the DT hubs. Any ideas? Will this require special tools?

Also, can the 340's indeed be upgraded with the higher engagement ratchet?

I have downloaded the manual from the DT site but didn't see what I was looking for. Maybe I missed it. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

There is no preload on the DT 340 hubs...if you have play then there is a bearing issue. And yes, the 340 can be upgraded to the high engagement FH Body.

Thanks mtnbiker72. Looks like I'll need to send the wheel off to the service center.
