How is the Geax Gato 2.3?
It was time to get some new rubber and I found a good deal on some Geax tires. I wanted a set of tires that cornered well, gripped well on rocks and roots (wet or dry), climbed well on all kinds of terrain, and rolled relatively fast. You know, the perfect tire. So far, it doesn't exist. But I came up with a set that I want to try. I want to run a Geax Gato 2.3 in the front and a Geax Mezcal 2.3 in the rear. Has anyone used this setup? Or either of these tires? What did you like or not like? What can I expect from them. I ride in the wooded trails of West Central Alabama and some small mountain terrain. I think these will do well.

A few years ago I used a Geax Mezcal 2.0 as a front tire (replacing a Hutchinson Moskito 2.0) and like it until I found out better tires (at this time, Michelin XC Dry^2). Now I'm running Conti Race Kings and can't be happier.
