Heads in, heads out on rim lace?
I just used Sheldon's directions to lace my first wheel.
WTB i23, Dt 240s hub. 3 cross.
It all looks good, but when I finished I noticed that the heads of the spokes are on the opposite side of he hub from what it had been previously laced based on marks on the hub. I then looked at a different wheel build by Chain Reaction Cycles, it has the opposite direction of the heads as well.
If I understood Sheldon's directions correctly, my first trailing Key spoke has the spoke dropped in from the outside, to in. The head faces out, the spoke runs up the inside of the hub flange.
So, I have a read a ton before I started this, and I gather that in real terms it makes no difference. Some recommend this way, others the other.
Am I good?
