    Halo Vapour rims?

Anyone have experience with Halo Vapour rims? Universal Cycles -- Halo Vapour Disc 29" Rim. Thinking about building up a set of 29er SS wheels with these + some Surly hubs I have laying around.

Thanks - I found Halo's for $52 here -https://www.outsideoutfitters.com/ps...-disc-rim.aspx. I like the fact that they are slightly wider than the Arch EX and have eyelets but only slightly heavier (and obviously a little cheaper). I'll probably give em' a try and see how it goes.

Vapour rims + Surly New SS hubs

So I pulled the trigger and picked up a pair of Vapour rims and laced them up to a set of Surly New SS hubs (that were originally on my stock 09 KM). Used DT Comp spokes and alloy nipples.

They built up easily enough, no drama there. On a Park scale they came in at 900g front / 980g rear (sans skewers, tape, valves, etc). Rear hub has the Surly 'Ultra New' axle kit.

I set them up tubeless with 1" Gorilla tape and Stan's valves. The Gorilla tape fits like a glove. Mounted an Ardent 2.4" front, Slant Six 2.2" rear, no leaks overnight, seems like a solid tubeless setup.

My initial impression is that these Halo rims are pretty good bang for the buck. Should get in a ride on them tonight.

EDIT: Rode for about 2 hours on my full rigid KM over some fairly rocky trails. Wheels feel solid and the tubeless setup is spot on, no burps or leaks. Will see how well the rims old up over the summer but at the moment I would say these are a good lower cost alternative to the Arch EX.
