Free Hub body replacement?
Was giving my bike a little tune up today and while tuning in the gears I noticed 1 of the middle rings on the cassette bent up a little. Took off the cassette to put a spare on (11-36 SRAM 1070) and noticed my free hub (DT Swiss 240s) dented up a little mainly on the outside rings. Was just wondering if this is normal wear and tear, its 1 year old now, or if this free body should be replaced?

Normal, file down the high spots and you're good to go.

I'd be a lot more concerned about the drive side spokes; looks like they've lost a few arguments. Might want to check your limit screws too.

Yes, looks normal. If you're a heavy-weight rider, you might want to look into a stainless steel freehub body. I got a Hope hub with a stainless body after I imploded a couple of alloy bodies. It looks like DT Swiss makes one too. But, this kind of damage/wear is normal. I agree with bulerias about the spokes, though. I'd consider taking the wheel to a shop to get those replaced.

I love this about you guys with expertise on the forums -- Bike Wisperer, 4slomo, etc. Us guys with limited experience can pose questions and problems, and get good advice and pointers on things we were not even thinking about, all with no attitude.

Shiggy, too. Thanks for all the help.

Thanks for all the replies and advice guys... I knew when uploading that pic I'd get something said about those spokes. Threw a chain into them 9 months ago, have had them looked over and wheels trued up a few times and all is good.
