    First wheel build

Parts have arrived! My LBS just got the hubs in yesterday. Here's the build list:

Rims: Velocity Blunt SL's, Polished Silver
Hubs: White Industry MI6's, Polished Silver
    Spokes: Wheelsmith double butted, Silver

Everything is so shiny! This will be my first wheel build. I'm doing it under the guidance of the shop manager. I couldn't be more excited. I've long wanted to learn to build wheels. I'll be building them up on Friday or Monday. Pics to follow.

Awesome choice of parts. I really think those hubs really were a standout option. They sure aren't the lightest things out there, but gosh they sure are durable.
Awesome to hear that your excited about building your first set of wheels too! You're really teaching yourself how to fish at this point, and I think you will find it to be a very rewarding experience. Be sure to post pics and a build report!

Awesome! It's pretty cool to ride around on wheels knowing I built them myself.

Take your time. Take breaks. Patience is key, especially starting out.

Not only is the experience more rewarding, you will save a fistfull of cash for other parts building your own wheels.

Had a great time building wheels tonight. Learned quite a bit. Had fun at the shop. Here is the final product.

Tough to photograph with all the shine. They turned out exactly how I wanted. Got me thinking about doing the rest of the bike up in silver now...
