DT 240s Swiss Rear Hub Bearing Question

I want to remove the bearing in my 240s rear hub shell and I have a few questions. Hopefully someone can help me. I have purchased the "DT Swiss Ring Nut Removal Tool" for a ridiculous price. Anyway, here I go:

    1) I have removed the freehub body and now I want to remove the axel from the hub shell. Can I simply pound the axel out towards the non-drive or rotor side?

    2) To remove the ring nut, do I turn clockwise or counter clockwise?

    3) Any other tips for me?

    Thanks for any help.

Yes but use a plastic or rubber mallet.

The ring needs to be turned counter clockwise, drive torque tightens the ring.

Once you get the drive ring out it fairly simple to put everything back together.
