    difference b/w DT XR 4.1D rim and DT Xr 4.2D?

    anyone know the difference? new model maybe? thanks

    The 4.2 is a bit wider and lighter as well. The 4.1 is an older model but is a bit stronger and narrower. The 4.1 builds up a stiffer/stronger wheel while the 4.2 can take slightly wider tires and suits lighter riders on rough terrain.

    I don't know what percentage stiffer/stronger the 4.1 is over the 4.2.

    Look on DT's website. Quite a difference really. Different profiles, different weights. Different widths if I remember rightly. 4.2d is truly disc specific while toe 4.1 and 4.1d are basically the same profile. Consensus here seems that the 4.1 is a little stronger, probably due to the extra weight. I didn't have much success with the 4.1's so decided to avoid the 4.2's and went to the 5.1's instead.
