Custom wheel help for my Bronson Carbon Rim Questions

    Hello,

I am building a set of custom 650b wheels for my SC Bronson Carbon. I have purchased Profile Elite Hubs and need to decide on a rim and spokes. From my research it looks like Sapim CX Ray spokes would be a good decision?? And what about a wide rim? I have been looking at the Flow EX but would like a couple of options. The bike came with WTB i23 rims. Thanks in advance for any input!

I think it's telling that no one else is making rims that wide. If you read mixed reviews you probably saw people saying that they altered the tire profile so much that it was hard to corner, and that the rim is flimsy, and that the paint sucks.

At that point is where my own research a while back concluded that it wasn't a rim I was interested in owning.

I already have hubs for the front and I am using 20mm front because I bought an x fusion vengeance.

I like your idea on the rims though.. Too bad they are not a little wider.

I've been interested in the Pacenti TL28 rims. Other wise I'd go Flows, I've had great success with them previously.

How heavy are you? CX-Rays may be a little too light for you (they're essentially Revolution gauge spokes that have been flattened in the middle). They cost more since they're bladed.

The TL28 is a light wide xc/trail option, weight wise it's between the Arch EX and Crest.
