    Conti Explorer Pro durability questions

I'm looking at the "Explorer Pro" or "Explorer Protection". I've heard of the sidewalls and knobs ripping on the Explorer Pro for a couple people, I'm curious to hear others' experiences. And the Protection version, does that really add any durability? It's only 10 grams heavier (claimed) per tire.

FYI these tires would be used for XC racing and trail riding and I weigh 125 lbs.

    Thanks!

    ive had zero issues...

when it comes to durability with the explorer pro's. have used them off and on for years. ive moved on to higher volume tires but my wife still has them on her bike. 2yrs riding all over the country, one flat, no lost knobs or torn sidewalls.
