    Bontrager valiant rims

    Are being made again I just bought a set at the LBS.

    I hope they're doing a better job this time around. Many Valiants used to weigh more than the Mustangs that they were supposed to be lighter than.

    Are you sure they are not old stock?

    Unlike a bunch of the 'other' rims - these were not available easily mailorder, and often only through Trek dealers. So that would make it quite a bit harder to move old stock. Unlike Sun or Alex that any shop can order through QBP.

    And I like the Mustang and Valiant (when close to spec) rims.

    They were also terrible to build...its hard to have even spoke tension when the rim was out of round and not true before you even laced them up.

    Now the old Blue and Red labels...those were great rims
