I'm looking for an all-black, 700c/29er disc wheelset built, for my Cannondale Bad Boy Ultra. Budget is around $450. I'd like a weight from 1500g-2100g, excluding skewers. Since this is for a bike that will see 100% urban street duty, brute strength is not the highest concern. Bling is not a priority. Wheels will most likely stay planted on pavement, with few speed bump hops. I weigh 175. Nearly all eBay sellers want outrageous prices for what I am specifying. Can it be done? I build wheels for my friends all the time. When they don't want to spend a lot of money, I build them Shimano M529 hubs with Sunringle Inferno rims. Ends up being a strong, inexpensive build.
If you shop carefully, you could maybe meet your number with Hope hubs as well.
Not sure of the weight of the Shimano hubs but I think 29" Inferno 25's are like 560 g each.

All black. I actually bought 4 white spokes to put around the valve but I may not use 'em. Total cost (including 4 white spokes) was $332 for parts & shipping. You could go cheaper on a rim. I shop ebay & amazon to try to find the lowest.
