So maybe I'm crazy, but I've ridden the hell out of my Alex CR18 rim/disc wheels and they are still relatively true. I have the option of swapping them out for a set of disc specific Alex HRD 26" (off a hardrock sport disc). I know specialized puts whese wheels on almost all their lower end bikes. Should I make the switch? Will these rims be out of true after a single ride? I like the look of the disc specific rims but don't want to swap out only to get a rim that looks like a pretzel after a single AZ ride. Are the rim/disc wheels inherently stronger and more resistant to going out of true?
