Was not shown or talked about at interbike. The site info is likely as much as we will get until they have it in rubber (many months away at the current rate).

The trouble with common sense is it is no longer common

    BUMP.

These are starting to come out so somebody's gotta have some ride-time on these - anybody got feedback on these tires?

So I ordered a set in DTC / SCT (2.35) - we'll see how it works out... Curiously, they do look a little like the Maxxis HR2's

Thought I'd revive this post from the dead. I just mounted a set of Kenda Nexcavators SCT 2.35 tires this aft.

    Initial Impressions:
I've spent a total of 15 min on em so far so no review yet. What I will pass along is that the tire seems a tad narrow. My go-to light weight all mountain tires are Continental Trail King (a.k.a Rubber Queen) 2.2 UST and Schwalbe Hans Dampf 2.3's. The Nexcavators are narrower than either of these tires. In fact they remind me of a Specialized Purgatory Control 2.2 2bliss but lower volume.

I will be mounting these on Stan's Flow rims in the near future (As they are my benchmark). If there is any interest I'm happy to share the width and height of the casing and tread (lugs).

It appears that Kenda has nailed the sidewall on this tire as it seems to have more thickness to it than some of the earlier SCT tires I've tried. As usual Kenda's DTC rubber is super grippy.

My guess is that this tire will be excellent for heavier duty Super D and less rocky enduro's with lower speeds and fewer big square edge hits (volume looks to be a limitation).

Hitting the trails tomorrow so all will be clearer.

Mounted mine as well but only on the front (running Excavator rear). Will get to ride it tomorrow.

Can you snap a pic of the tread how it ended up looking on a real tire next to one of the tires you mentioned to get a idea of lug size and spacing.

Here's a pic that compares the Nexcavator to the Excavator:

It is narrower than comparable 2.35 tires (casing) & the side knobs are smaller than I'd like. I did lay it over pretty good and it hooked up ok.

Just to clarify, the Kenda SCT tires do NOT have a UST (or UST "like") bead, correct?

Not home now to check but I believe so - super easy to setup tubeless... Did it with floor pump

    On a UST rim?

According to this thread Kenda SCT details? it appears it does not. Bummer, as I'd really like to try these tires on my Mavic ust rims.
