    38C - 42C Tubeless gravel/commute tire

I'm trying to find a larger (38C-42C) tire like this that will set up well tubeless. The largest I'd want to go is 29x1.75

I'd like a fast rolling slick center, but also some knobbies for gravel road cornering. I recently bought the Kenda Komfort. I like everything about it except that the bead has these small grooves all the way around that wont ever let it seal without a tube.

    Any recommendations?

I too am waiting for the perfect 29in. hybrid tire. I am not concerned with the tubeless part, just a design that I like! Years ago there was a Kenda Cross - slick type center and knobby sides that was a dream - in 26in only... I wrote them pleading to bring that back for 29ers, but I'm not holding my breath. As an out, I picked up GEAX Evolutions to try. On asphalt they are great. Today I'm giving them a rail-trail workout to see how they fare. They may work with a tubeless setup , I actually didn't look at their rating.

    Good Luck!

I am quite fond of the Clement X'Plor MSO's that came with my Salsa Vaya. I don't have them set up tubeless but this reviewer does. You may also be interested in the Specalized S-Works Renegade tires. 29x1.8 and tubeless ready.

Take a stab at the monstercross thread. Tons of recommended tires in there that fit what you're looking for.

Thanks. The Conti Travel Contact look like what I'm wanting and comes in a folding 42C version. Now to see if they'll set up tubeless.
