    29er, XC wheelset for clydesdale

Looking for a new 29" wheelset. Light weight, but durable. I weigh 210lbs, and ride mostly xc, but I want something durable enough to withstand some occasional thrashing (and my big arse). Suggestions?

First question would be what's ur budget. Being I'm 275 your far from being "big"

I've got wheels currently that total set was $230 and hold my fat butt Damn well on xc with occasionally being bashed on trails outside my skill level.

Have plans (starting to save for) for wheels that each hub costs that much each roughly without spokes or wheels to have ready for next season. Still researching hubs to decide which I want.

So budget matters a lot as well as if your wanting tubeless or tubed set up.

I want tubes, and I'm on the "everyman" budget, but willing to splurge a little for good hoops. Basically looking for workhorse wheels that will spin up fairly quickly.

I'm 215ish and have been running a stans crest front and arch rear both with the 3.30 hubs for the last 3 years with zero problems.
You could run them with tubes also.

I bash them on a hard tail with about 800-1000 miles per year.

I just bought the flow ex/hope pro wheel set from Merlin cycles for $350 shipped to Texas. The flow ex's might be overkill since I only weigh 180ish but I ride a lot of rocky terrain at speed so I figured why not (the arch ex's weren't offered).

The Arch EX rims are a great choice as are the WTB Frequency i23 rims and Pacenti TL28. Hope Hubs are a great value. Chris King, Industry Nine and DT Swiss are also excellent hubs.
