    2013 Crossmax SLR 29 running 2.3?

Doing some research it looks like for 2013 the SLR rim has increased in width a bit to 19mm, still considered a bit narrow for many. Mavic's website says "Recommended tyre sizes: 1.5 to 2.3".

I'm wondering if anyone has been running these wheels tubeless with 29er 2.3 tires and if you have run into any issues at that tire size.

What pressure have you found to work or not work? Anyone tried running 2.35's a little outside of Mavic's recommended size range?

I would hope to run 29 2.3's for XC / Light trail at 175lbs, so looking for feedback. Thanks guys.

    Re: 2013 Crossmax SLR 29 running 2.3?

I've been wondering the same. My stock wheels are 23mm inner and I'm running 2.3's. So, the idea of dropping to a 19mm wheel seems iffy.

I've been using 26" Crossmax ST (19mm internal width also) for 5+ years with many different tires including Specialized Eskar 2.3 (which run big) with no problem. A friend of mine even mounted a 2.35 Nobby Nic on a Mavic SLR (17mm inner width) and seems pleased with the result (so far). I don't see why it should be a problem for 29" wheels.

I'm running the 2013 SLR 29er with RaRa's 2.35 on the front setup tubeless without any issues. I usually run about 23 psi on the front and i'm a heavier guy weighing in at 205lbs.

I ran my 2013 SLR 29ers with Specialized Ground Control 2.3 in the FRONT for a while, usually at 25lbs, without any problems. I have since swapped out for some Schwalbe Racing Ralphs 2.25, front and back, run at 24/27lbs. I'm 170lbs without equipment. Wheels are on a Niner Air 9 RDO for light trail riding.

Awesome guys thanks for the responses. Wasn't too worried about the 26 vs 29 but more the width of that rim and sounds like there shouldn't be any issues at 2.3 which is perfect for what I will be doing.

    Re: 2013 Crossmax SLR 29 running 2.3?

After having the SLR's for a few hundred miles and trying several sets of tires and psi combos; I feel that any 19mm wheel is a little to narrow for 2.3+ if you plan to run tubeless and lower psi. Two much side squish and to much burping.
