    I'm new to BC

I'm looking to get into downhill and or All-mountain
What should I have for gear other than a full face Helmet?

It all depends on what you happen to be riding.
Leg and Arm armor. Sufficient for a lot of AM riding, with an XC helmet.
Full Face - if you're riding drops, skinnies, pushing yourself.
Bike? An XC bike on AM/DH trails can get sketchy at times (not impossible though)

Well I'm working on a resort, and I love to push my limits. I have a Kona King Kikapu. I'm worried it won't stand up to terrain.

Yeah, an XC bike can only take so much FR/DH. You might see if you can get an employee deal at the resort bike shop to demo a FR bike for a day or two and see if it's worth buying one for your riding style.

what resort? kicking horse is selling a couple devinci johnsons for cheap. although i'm sure they are a bit beat up, it seems like a good deal - at least a start. i was going to go grab one on a detour home from inveremere to calgary, but they were closed sunday. i rode my buddies rental johnson at fernie a couple years ago, and it felt like a nice bike
