assuming you mean mt. 7 in golden?

go to pinkbike.com photo section, search for mt. 7 there are tons of pics. the trail is so steep at the top it's rediculous, super tech fun stuff. it evens out a bit in the middle with some nice drops/skinnies, followed by smooth fast bermy stuff. one of my favorites!

If you root around on this website there were some pictures of the seven summits.

PG 8 of the .PDF has a pic of a guy on the traverse.
Yep, the one with the title of "shang-ri-la". I picked up Kootenay Mountain Culture mag at a shop in West Bank last summer. It's really well done (Mitchell Scott is one of the editors) and further fueled my desire for a Rossland / Nelson roadtrip next summer.

Formica, thanks for the map. Very cool.

Seven Summits, xpost from September

Two thumbs up for Rossland!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My wife and I just did a 2-week road trip in the Kootenays. We went to Rossland twice because the riding was so good and the people were so friendly. I agree with jubilee about Revolution Cycle, the place to get local scoop on trails and also to arrange a shuttle for the Seven Summits Trail. The owner marked out a trail, The Full Monte, that hadn't made it onto the newest trail map. A more technical offshoot from Techno Grind that looped back to Milky Way, it was a good test for our "skinny bikes" as the locals called them. XC race bikes are apparently a rare sight in the Kootenays.

We were lucky to ride the Summits on a good weather day, just enough cloud cover to keep us from burning and to make the photos interesting. Wifey and I have been fortunate enough to ride in some of the primo MTB areas in Western N.A. and I can say that the 7 Summits is easily one of the top 5 trails we've ridden. Rough and rocky downhills, tough climbs, and amazing scenery along 36kms of singletrack. Mountain bike heaven!

Put this one on top of your "must ride before I die" list.

Thanks ZDFG and Formica.

Good info. Just got back from surfing the pow near Golden. Not a whole lot of coverage, but the snow was light and cold. The chopper flew right over Mt 7 trail....nice!

EB, I picked up a copy of the winter edition of the Kootenay Mountain Culture mag. Great work by Mitchell Scott and crew. Sort of what BIKE was in it's inception

Again, thanks all for the info
