riding for kids age 7 & 9 in rossland?

Would you recommend taking a trip to rossland if one of the goals is find trails suitable for pretty competent, but young riders?

They're 7 & 9, and handle beginner singletrack pretty well, but they're not ready for the rough stuff yet. And they want singletrack, rail-trails are "boring."

Or are there other places in Eastern BC that have better trails for what we're hoping for? fernie, revelstoke, nelson, are close enough and we could do those places as well.

There are some pretty good trails in Rossland that should be okay for a competent kid. I'd suggest contacting Revolution Cycles, the local shop there and getting recommendations from them. Fernie is also a good choice, although they should be comfortable with climbing (this also goes for Rossland). Nelson ups the ante in 'tech' on the singletrack significantly, and Revelstokes rides tend to be on the more 'epic'/longer side of things.
