    MS Rona MTBike Tour Hinton

    September 10 and 11, 2011
Anyone else riding this event this year?

Here's a link to the tour homepage; I think there is still time to register.

Here's a link to my donation page; definitely still time to donate

I helped out at a volunteer station last year and had a chance to check out some portions of the trail.. this is an excellent opportunity to ride parts of the region that aren't easily accessed.

Checked out the site but couldn't find anything regarding fees. Do you know how much the fees are? I would assume that there would be some sort of cost for overnighting, meals, etc. Saw that the minimum pledge is $275 for an individual but that was all.

The $275 minimum pledge covers the cost of the tour and meals. Overnighting is at your own expense and can be hotel, motel, tent or other. I'm sure that most of the riders in this tour are local and sleep in their own beds. I'm crashing at friends place but may still be required to tent due to overcrowding and that snoring problem I have.

Wow, have other's pay for your mountain bike trip! Good deal! Something to consider for next year as not enough notice for this year. Thanks for the info!

Here are a couple of pictures from the event. The weather was amazing, the terrain was challenging. Really have to give a hand to the organizers for negotiating access and linking all these bits of trail. The ride is mostly single-track and double-track, maybe 5km on paved highway and a little less than that on gravel roads. I tracked 47km on Day one.. but failed to start my chrono/gps recording on Day two so no idea the actual distance but assume it was about the same.

Schweet. If I wasn't chest deep in the Ride to Conquer Cancer (yeah, I know...it's a road ride, but the hills are great on a mtb), I'd likely see about doing that one too

Good on you, Saint, for supporting a good cause
