New question here. Moving to Whistler for the Season - Need Advice

i am done with my current lease in May and want to head up with the bikes+dogs and go get a short-term rental for the bike season.

I was wondering where should I be looking as far as area to be close to the bike park? Any help on neighborhoods to look at and if there are any good sites (beyond craigslist) for looking for places.

Thanks for your help much appreciated! //g

Try the Pique magazine, it's the local newsmagazine and has local classifieds with rentals listed in it.

    Here's a basic map of Whistler's neighborhoods:

Now I am no expert on this subject but here are a few things I have heard.

It is not cheap to rent in Whistler.
No idea what your budget is??

Summer is a bit easier then Winter for rental I believe.

It is tight to find a place and if you do you will be sharing it.
Not sure what the short term rental is like compared to long term.....
Also if you have issues to Aussie or Kiwi accents you might be in trouble......

Could also try Squamish or Pemberton to.
Not sure if that will work for you but it is a option.

    Good Luck!!!

@Halfstep- awesome man that will definitely help I had no clue where to look and all that jazz much appreciated!

@Dawgprimo- we'll see what i can find.. i haven't really set a budget.. lower is always better.. so i am gonna do my best to research and find something decently priced. and i have no problem with accents.. in fact love them on (hot) chicks.. (are there any up there?)

the search for more information continues. thanks much //g

If you're coming in May that's a pretty good time to find a place. Plus a lot of (rental) housing has opened up since the Olympics so I doubt you'll have trouble finding a place for just the summer. It's getting harder to find jobs than housing. You can get a room in a house for roughly $700-$800 per month (CAD) and a 1 bedroom is gonna be at least $1000. Ideally you don't want to be South of Creekside or North of Alpine.
