My wife and I are going to be doing some riding on our way from Calgary to Kamloops this summer, and the Larch Hills Traverse ride caught my eye.
(link if you haven't heard of it - Trails - Shuswap Trails)
I'm questioning though if it would be too hard for my wife. How does the difficulty level (technical and physical) compare to rides in the Kananaskis area? I found one reference online that said that the cumulative elevation gain was only around 700m - does anyone have a GPX file or something similar? For reference, she has proven more than capable of doing ~20km with ~700m, but this would obviously be a much longer day, especially if the technical difficulty is high.
Also, it looks like you can cut the ride somewhat shorter (and less climby) by starting at the "Larch Hills trailhead" instead of the "South Canoe trailhead" - anybody have a profile and distance on that ride.
